Victoria Cityscape

Victoria Cityscape is a dream come to life for our first time homeowners, who designed the home with support from Made to Last. Located on nearly ten acres at the top of the Malahat, the 2,559 sq. ft. home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms over two levels. The placement of the simple L-shape will maximize southern exposure and the panoramic views of Victoria, the Finlayson Arm, and the Olympic Mountains.

A reverse living floor plan will make the most of the breathtaking views while providing a cooler space below for hot summer days and sleeping. The great room on the upper floor is framed by large windows and an 18 ft. deck which will provide safe (from cougars and bears) and nearly seamless access to the rugged outdoors. Large windows and glazed doors allow an abundance of natural light to the lower floor as well, while creating the feeling of being in a cabin in the woods. A large and open entry is important to our owners, in addition to easy access to the washroom from the garage or outdoors.

The exterior of Victoria Cityscape consists of white board and batten on the upper and a darker horizontal siding to add visual contrast to the tall design. A rain chain and cement planters at the entry add curb appeal.

Some unique features in this home include opposing garage doors which provide airflow and mountain views as the homeowners work on their projects. The upstairs Office will have a loft space over the adjacent Storage room. And there will be an elevator shaft for a future elevator allowing the homeowners to age in place within their dream home.
