Modern Valley is located in Kingsview, Duncan’s newest neighbourhood. It is situated on the side of Mt. Tzouhalem, which is a popular biking and hiking spot in the Cowichan Valley.

This modern style custom home is 2,642 sq.ft. over two levels. Modern Valley has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and an office.

The grand entryway is a major feature of this home. Our client desired to make a statement with a unique architectural design.  The tall open gable entry achieves that. 

Expansive windows flood the whole home with natural light.  In addition, they enhance the exterior design. They also optimize views of the surrounding valley.

Instead of closets, our client is choosing furniture and built-ins for storage in most areas.

Removing the closet in the entry allows for an open custom stairwell. The large entry also provides uninterrupted sight line and flow from the front door to the pool table room.  The rear portion of the lower floor is underground. Because of this, Made to Last took advantage of having no windows by placing the media room here.  There will also be a bar.  As a result, this becomes the perfect entertaining space. Hidden pocket doors close off the room when needed.

The upper floor of Modern Valley is open concept. Clerestory windows and three skylights over the kitchen provide extra natural light. The walk-in pantry provides storage.
